GETTING STARTED
Getting started
Four steps, and no diagnosis or doctor's referral needed for most plans.
01
Reach out
Call or send the appointment request form. We'll ask what's bringing you in, whether you're looking for individual, couples or family work, your availability, and your insurance. About fifteen minutes.
02
We match you and verify your benefits
We match you with a clinician whose training fits what you're working on, confirm your coverage, and tell you what you can expect to pay before your first session.
03
Paperwork before you arrive
Consent for treatment, Notice of Privacy Practices, financial agreement, telehealth consent if you're meeting virtually, releases if you want us coordinating with anyone else, and custody or guardianship documentation for a minor.
WHAT TO HAVE READY
Don't have all of it? Come anyway.
Insurance card, front and back
Photo ID
A list of current medications and doses
The names of any other providers involved in your care
Custody or guardianship paperwork, if the client is a minor
Records from previous treatment, if you want them considered
A rough sense of what you'd like to be different — a sentence is enough
How soon can I be seen?
Typical wait to a first appointment:
In a crisis: if you or someone you love is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. For free, confidential support 24/7, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. In Maryland, you can also dial 211 and press 1 for the Maryland Crisis Hotline.
